Welcome to Haliburton

With the low Canadian and US dollar exchange rate - we are "kind of" forced to explore Ontario for our March get-way. Around 2.5 hours drive from Toronto via Hiway 35 is Haliburton. Part of cottage country and almost towards Algonquin Park the place is surrounded by lakes of various sizes.

Right in front of where we stayed is Lake Kashagawigamog - one of the largest lakes in the Haliburton area. Its name is derived from the Native word for "long and winding waters." Sixteen km long and about one km wide - all frozen as of now.

Paddle boats waiting for summer.
