Good Friday

Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ~ Isaiah 53: 1-5

Maundy Thursday

When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

Holy Wednesday

Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What will you give me if I betray him to you?" They paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he began to look for an opportunity to betray him. ~ Matthew 26: 14-16

Holy Tuesday

Listen to me, O coastlands, pay attention, you peoples from far away! The Lord called me before I was born, while I was in my mother’s womb he named me. He made my mouth like a sharp sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me a polished arrow, in his quiver he hid me away. And he said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified." But I said, "I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my cause is with the Lord, and my reward with my God. ~ Isaiah 49: 1-4

Holy Monday

Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not grow faint or be crushed until he has established justice in the earth; and the coast lands wait for his teaching.   ~ Isaiah 42: 1-4

One More at Kensington

Kensington Market, Toronto
November 14, 2017

Mix photos from that November outing in Kensington.

Mexican food we had.

Finally, something black and white only.

 Color overload.

Then sweetness overload at Fika Cafe.

One of those days when doing nothing feels just right.

Kensington Market - Faces on Graffiti

Kensington Market, TorontoNovember 14, 2017

As the November air became colder we managed to revisit Kensington Market for no reason at all. This outing brought us to the Sonya Parkette and nearby area where the common figure in their graffiti were human faces.

The human face has limited space.
If you fill it with laughter, there will be no room for crying.

Colorful, artistic, very interesting.

Art Around John Street

John Street, Toronto
November 4, 2017

Before watching the movies at the Bell Lightbox we had some time to wander around the area and enjoyed some interesting, colorful, artsy things that caught my eye.

Taped on a alley door.

Must be a publishing house for fiction works.
The words behind me were actually the opening statement of H.G. Well's "War of the Worlds".

Sometimes you have to look up.

A beautiful work of art.

You will surely take a second look if you will see that it is completely made of push pins.

It is always good to prowl ordinary places and be interested in anything.

Belfountain - The Waters

Belfountain Conservation Area
October 22, 2017

History
Close to the picturesque village of Belfountain, is this 8 ha site once belonged to Charles Mack, inventor of the cushion-back rubber stamp.

Mack and his wife Addie purchased the property in 1908, where he developed his version of a miniature Niagara Falls and Yellowstone Cave. Mr. Mack had a suspension bridge built downstream from the dam and created a fountain topped with a bell honouring the town. He also added stone walls, footpaths, scenic lookouts and a guesthouse. The couple lived in a small house deep in the park.

The Hamlet of Belfountain

Belfountain, Ontario
October 22, 2017

Belfountain is a picturesque hamlet (small human settlement) on the Forks of the Credit Road. The road towards the place is scenic and fun to drive. We visited this place on a nice autumn day and we were surprised by the number of people in such a small place.

Despite the lack of space except by the narrow road. Harleys, fancy cars, baby strollers, people and pets are happy with the tiny space.

The charm of Belfountain is its smallness. If ever you get to pass by or visit the place - make sure to try from any of the 3 ice cream shops and/or coffee shops. There is  a General store that sells sweets and coffee too aside from souvenirs and an Inn that serves meals.

Fooling around.

Uxbridge - 3

Uxbridge, Ontario
October 15, 2017

More photos taken on our last visit to Uxbridge.

Portion of the Main Street.

Aside from street art - I also enjoy noting store business signs with the style and fonts they use.

Inside Savon Du Bois where we had tea with zucchini walnut muffin.

Another view of the Main street.

Train station where several trips are scheduled depending on season.
