Photos of the Week - High Park Swans

For more than 30 minutes these swans lay content in the far corner of the Grenadier Pond at High Park. My idea was to photograph them with the colors of fall in the background - thus I waited. I was ecstatic when they finally started swimming.

But look how the first swan "snubbed" me in the first photo.
And it kept on "snubbing" me even when the second swan entered the frame.
Then, when it finally decided look forward. . .
it was the other swan's turn to "snub" me.
Was finally able to take a shot with both of them looking forward -
but the colors were no longer as good.
Ahh, can't win them all, right?

High Park is a mere 30 minutes drive from our place. Located near the heart of downtown Toronto it is the largest public park featuring many hiking trails, diverse vegetation, a beautiful lakefront, convenient parking and a lot of other amenities. Second to the cherry blossom time, autumn is the park's busiest season.
