Contrary to the name Randomness – I am actually a person of schedules and don’t like to be sidetracked.
Being a "planner", I had everything mapped out for last Saturday. We were supposed to be museum hopping (York Museum and the York Fort – all in celebration of Toronto’s 175th year). I had the driving directions printed, camera ready, and was dressed for the weather. Well, weather forecasters !?! As soon as we headed out – it was so gloomy and dark and heavy rain started. Hubby did not want to go anymore. I was so frustrated that a headache started.
Hubby suggested we just watch a movie to cheer me up. Watched Stone of Destiny which turned out to be another disappointment. Considering it was based on a true story and is part of Scotland's history – it was kind of lame. Maybe because we compared it to Milk and Frost/Nixon.
The only saving grace to that “disastrous” day is when hubby cooked pickled fish and mongo soup (my favorites) when we arrived home. At least.
Sunday came and again, I had everything programmed. Wash, cook, clean house. Darn DST! I forgot it was in effect already until a friend called. I had to cram my chores as I was already an hour behind! Mid afternoon and midway of cooking, friends called informing me of a spur-of-the-moment get together and they are picking me up. There goes the rest of my weekend.
Being spontaneous is exciting at times – but for Ms. Randomness spontaneity brings havoc to her "scheduled" life.
Do you prefer structure or impulse? Planned or unplanned?
I prefer structure but I can be impulsive too. Visit this website and check if you have a Type A or B behavior. http://discoveryhealth.queendom.com/type_a_personality_access.html
ReplyDeleteMe, too, I prefer structure. In some cases I like unplanned like an unplanned outing. It will always turn out to be fun and exciting because you don't have time anymore to think of high expectations.
ReplyDeleteA balance of both would be perfect! Maybe in a perfect world!
