While having dinner one night, D complained that my overcooked chicken didn't look like dinner anymore. Where is the love, Mom?
That phrase is a hubby original. Hubby takes a long time when he prepares our sandwich. It is a grand production. The tomatoes are neatly cut, the cheese and the ham are well arranged. He says he makes those sandwiches with love - unlike me. When it is my turn, I just go through the motions. I make the sandwich because if I don’t - we will not have lunch – plain and simple.
It is funny 'tho how words and phrases that we just carelessly throw around come back. I thought I will not hear about this “where is the love”, or “I make them with love” phrases anymore. I was wrong, they made a comeback.
Now, how will I add love to this beef stew?
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
Probably you had other things in mind. You just want to get things done asap. The presentation might not be grand, but still done with love since you took time to do it. Beef stew? Easily done with love via the slow cooker. How's that. Happy Valentine's Day!
