Something caused too much havoc on my office PC last week. PC was so slow, it took 20 minutes just to log in and another 40 minutes to open a file and I am not kidding. It was just freezing. I tried all the tricks I know, re-booting, unplugging cords, deleting files, moving files, server check, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, I had to call Super T, our reliable tech guy.
Super T could not diagnose the problem either. He then decided to temporarily move my PC hard drive to another location. And it worked just fine. Super T then suspected, it must be the router/data link gizmo ( I really don't know what that was). Anyway, Super T changed the gizmo and yes my hard drive worked fine.
Upon closer look at my router, guess what was inside?
A single staple wire. Super T said it must have caused a short circuit inside. I don't know if that is true or not. If it is, amazing how a single tiny innocent object can give me a day and half of trouble. Unbelievable.
