Asked just when I open the front door and before I can take out my coat. Best answered with "Don't we have any leftovers"?
2) What were you doing while I was not home?
The all time favorite. Really interesting depending on who is asking.
3) Any party invitation for the weekend?
This only means we've been camped up in our little condo for too long, we need a breather.
4) Have you seen my ___ ? (fill blank with socks, shirt, book, etc.)
Yes, I am the all seeing, all knowing person in the household who knows where everything is except the remote. This is sometimes followed by "How did you know it was there? or " I knew you know where it was".
5) What are we doing tonight?
A two prong question. Could mean someone has made plans and wants (or not want) you to join. Never answer with "it's up to you" or you will end up doing something you don't enjoy.
Sometimes, this also means I have to think of something fast as someone has ran out of ideas.
