Politics simply does not grind my gears. I compare it to a rehashed TV show that has its moments, then lies low and comes back again. The storyline more or less stays the same, only the actors change. Most of the time what matters is who gets the most sympathy, the most applause, or even the the most laugh.
But, with barely 3 days before the US elections, I could not help but ponder...
Will I be witnessing history? This is going to happen in my lifetime? If Obama wins, will the other party get my sympathy?
It seems America is ready, but have they made the right decision? Is this election won by the one who gets the most applause, but not necessarily the one who is the best for the country?
If McCain wins, will he get the most laugh? or the last laugh?
Once in a while, politics does excite.
Coming from a Canadian, you made some good points on the US soon-to-be-a-history election. From a Floridian(soon-to-be a US Citizen) I have to comment that this is something most people here in the US have been passionate about the past year... most are hopeful and have been actively involved, some are somewhat complacent and there are quite a few who still couldnt care less. Personally, I want my candidate to win, not just for emotional reasons but I have this conviction that my candidate will bring about the real positive change(too bad, the 4 of us were just a month late to register/cast our vote)... but HE will WIN, I betcha! lol
