Mountain Brook Lodge

In our recent trip to the Adirondacks we stayed at Mountain Brook Lodge in Wilmington, NY. Named the best lodge in Wilmington for 3 consecutive years by Trip Advisor, the award is truly deserved.

Friendly owner Al made us feel at home right away when we checked in. He personally led us to our room and showed us what we need to know. The room was cozy, clean and spacious.

It was however the little things that made a big difference in this lodge. The  4 pillows they provided (while we got only 2 in our previous lodge), real coffee creamer provided in the room (instead of the powdered ones), and sachets of chocolate drink in addition to the coffee and tea.

We met Alicia, Al's wife in the morning. She was a welcoming and gracious host. Food was aplenty for breakfast served starting at 8 am. This gave us reason to sleep in. WiFi worked intermittently but we did not care, we were on vacation as Al said.

Mountain Brook Lodge is located near the Jay covered bridge, and is a few minutes away from both the Au Sable Chasm and the White Falls Gorge (both waterfalls) . Needless to say, this lodge sits right at the foot of  Whiteface Mountain, New York's state's 5th highest peak.

This trip was just a probing one. Just a scratch off the surface of the Adirondacks which is a big time bucket list item for me. We are definitely coming back and for sure will stay at Mountain Brook Lodge.

Thanks Al and Alicia! You are the best in what you do!
