Flowers, Bridges and a Prince

3 Books I recently revisited -- just because. . .

Flowers for Algernon
Heart wrenching story of a mentally challenged individual who underwent an experiment to increase his intelligence with a parallel procedure tested on a mouse named Algernon.
One time considered a challenged book in the US and Canada. The last line of this story breaks my heart.
"P.S. please if you get a chanse put some flowrs on Algernons grave in the bak yard."

The Little Prince
This timeless story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry can still move a reader no matter the age. The childlike qualities of innocence, imagination, adventure makes this one of my favorites, including the famous line:

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye."

Bridges of Madison County
Thanks to M - who sent me a new copy, I just have to reread. A beautiful love story that strangely started with :
If you'd like supper again when "white moths are on the wing,"
come by tonight after you're finished.
Perfect for those days when you need a dose of a tearjerker. (Just in case, there is a sequel to this book titled "A Thousand Country Roads")

Do you "revisit" books you've already read?

  2. I too like to revisit old favourites - sense of
comfort and still find surprises as well.

Like your choices, though wasnt a huge fan of the book Bridges of Madison County, did think was one of the rare films that actually
    surpassed its source!
