Yonge and Bloor, Toronto. My work address for almost 9 years now. The very armpit of downtown Toronto.
In 2007, there was so much commotion about this place. An 80 storey condo tower to be constructed at this location called Bloor One was launched here. Buyers camped outside the sales office for a week to get a piece of the "IT" residence of the future. People were willing to pay thousands for a mere square foot of "prime space". But that was then.
Now, developer Bazis International is on the second extension of its "condition date" to start building the planned 80-storey condo tower. The bulldozed lot still sits empty. Buyers has become increasingly concerned about their investment.
Nobody knows what the future holds.
Me? I will always be a resident of Yonge and Bloor. From 8:00-5:00 Monday to Friday. And I did not line up for it.
