Branding

I am amazed at how advertisers can come up with various ways to put their brands right in front of you. We're not talking about big time TV spots, full page newspaper space, or even huge billboards. I mean, any space your vision can land on -- anywhere and anyhow.

Here's 2 I found lately :

ROGERS in the coffee cup sleeves. This caught my eye because ROGERS is in communication and not in the coffee business, yet they are putting their name in these cup protectors. I took a second look first time I noticed it.

Altis HR (I don't know them before) in a multi-color highliter. When I got the highlighter I had to search what this company do. Not so far off at least. They are in the recruiting business and sooner or later someone will notice their name while using the marker.

Pretty clever advertising guys they have.

If you have a brand, where will you place it?

  1. I noticed the name Aurora is a brand too. Small office machines, electronics, an Oldsmobile car, tires, furniture among other things. I don't mind that it's the name of Sleeping Beauty, and being told "Oh it's the pretty northern lights". How would you react when a little old lady told me "It's that brand of toilet paper we used to buy".

  2. Very tricky how these business entrepreneurs advertise their brands. In my case, if I have one I'll place it on ladies' underware, say if my business is in men & boys undies. It sound's silly but I think it will work. But if we reverse the case, women's brand on men's undies I think the business will close. Lol.

  3. Au,
Never heard of Aurora toilet paper - I don't want to say more...

    Julits,
Your idea is brilliant - am not sure though if it will sell!

Both of you made me laugh out loud (literally!)
