Alec Greven

What were you doing when you were 9?

I was pretty amazed by this boy, Alec Greven who at 9 has already written his first book How to Talk to Girls published in November 2008. The book began as a handwritten, $3 pamphlet which became a runaway seller at his school book fair .

His second book, How to Talk to Moms, was published in March 2009 and his third, How to Talk to Dads came out a month after.

From his first book, he advises "The best choice for most boys is a regular girl. Remember, some pretty girls are coldhearted when it comes to boys. Don't let them get to you."

"It is easy to spot pretty girls because they have big earrings, fancy dresses and all the jewelry," he writes in Chapter Three.

As for his own love life, he said he is not dating anyone at the moment. "I'm a little too young," he confessed.

For the rest of us hanging on at '9 (29, 39, 49) - yo think we can still make it as a writer?

  1. Why not? One can always try to do something new at any age.

  3. Au & Julito,
I like writing but I realized it is not an easy thing to do. But I am not giving up.

    Au,
In this post, I was supposed to reveal what Andrew wants to be when he grows up. I don't know what happened - it slipped my mind. Now, I have to quickly think of a post - that will relate to something like this and that one. Gosh!
