Finally had time to watch Mama Mia on DVD.Good thing I chose to watch it while ironing our clothes. There was not much to follow really, in terms of storyline. I was still able to concentrate on the creases and listen to the dialogue and songs simultaneously.
Maybe because I have listened to the ABBA songs for so many, many times, the songs somehow sounded different in the movie. Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan were a revelation though and all the cast did a good job.
It just felt it was too short, there was no time to feel anything for any of the character. Oh, well -- it is an adaptation of a Broadway musical – what else should I expect?
I finished my ironing and sang (and danced) along the way – what a deal!

ReplyDeleteSame question with D. Seems like it was Pierce Brosnan, although not really clear (or maybe I was not paying attention). Meryl and Pierce ended up getting married instead of the daughter, while the other "suspected dad" revealed he was more of a she than a he!
