Scenario :
You arrive home from a party to find out someone has parked in your designated parking spot.
This happened to us very recently and it caused us a lot of inconvenience. (We live in a condo, thus we have numbered spots.)
First, hubby called security who was not of much help.
Second, we called the office emergency number and all the staff can suggest was to park at the visitor's parking outside, which we don't want to do.
Last, we called the building superintendent. He suggested we can call a tow truck and have the vehicle towed at owner's expense.
Kind of tempting, but good manners prevailed. We asked the superintendent for an empty spot so we can park temporarily. Whew, What a night!
Anyway, before we moved our car we taped the following note on the wrongly parked car "You are parked in our spot. Please remove or car will be towed at your expense. You have caused us so much inconvenience".
Next day comes and we checked. Car was already gone and had moved to its right spot. As suspected, it was just 2 spots away from ours. No note, no nothing.
Discussing about it, hubby and I agreed if it was us who parked incorrectly, we would have sought out the owner of the parking spot and personally extend our apologies. A note would even be good enough. Maybe, some people just don't have manners.
Thinking about it now, I suggested to hubby -- how about if we park on their spot and put a note "How do you feel?"
Dear readers -- what do you think?
what you did was right. we just can't expect all people to be polite and that is frustrating. i don't know if you are with me; i would just dismissed it as one of life's imperfection. and imperfection as human as we are, the fuse sometimes get short easily and we lose our temper and boom! anything could happen next. keeping your cool was right. kudos.
ReplyDeletethat is sooo annoying, i admire your patience. Lucky for the owner of that car that it was your parking space that they took, i don't think other people would be that considerate.
ReplyDeleteRemember, a wrong doing cannot be made right by another wrong doing.... that's right, keep your cool... hey, did I hear some Chavacano @#$%*#@?!
ReplyDeleteYou did the right thing. Hopefully it won't happen again.
ReplyDeleteKristiano gyod mo.
ReplyDeleteHayy, Condo Living! In 5 years, first time that happened. Anyway, everytime we see the car - we cannot help but discuss about it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, it won't happen again.
It may also have been an honest mistake?
ReplyDeleteYou did the right thing, and a semblance of revenge is definitely not the right course of action.
to everyone,
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will do the same thing if something like this happens. What just bothers me once in a while is that there has been no attempt to apologize. To think we are just 1 car away.
Different folks, different strokes!
