Snowed In Coffee and Cigarettes, Kiss Then Bang

Snow Storm Round 2. What better way to chill with D than by watching our specialty - those not so commercial films.

Kiss Kiss
Bang Bang

Produced in 2005, a crime con black comedy film, which follows many conventions of the classic film noir genre. The movie had a limited release and did not win any award except "Overlooked Film of the Year" by the 2005 Phoenix Film Critics Society.
If you like Robert Downey Jr. (after alcohol and drug rehab), Val Kilmer (as a gay detective), Michelle Monaghan (of MI 3) , and enjoyed movies like Whole Nine Yards, The Matador, and Pulp Fiction - you might enjoy this.
Sharp and clever comedy plus Downey and Kilmer had good screen chemistry.
*****************
Coffee and Cigarettes
For a simple film which almost entirely only had a tables, chairs, coffee and cigarettes as props, this film took a course of 17 years to complete. The film is composed of eleven short vignettes in comedy style. Most of the cast in the short films are playing themselves making the movie even more friendly and warm, exactly the kind of feeling you would have when you talk with your friends while you drink your coffee and smoke your cigarette.
Cast includes Cate Blanchett (in a dual role), Bill Murray, Jack White (singer of Quantum of Solace theme with Alicia Keys), Joie Lee (Spike Lee's sister also a director, producer, screenwriter), Steve Buscemi (gosh, his filmography is too long ); singers Tom Waits and Iggy Pop; Wu-Tang Clan members RZA and GZA.
Shot in black and white, an artistic film - one of those you watch because you study films.
