Postscript to a birthday – Food, Family, Fun

D’s birthday can never be complete without the mandatory dinner out. (C’mon I believe I am allowed to have more than 1 post for family birthdays).
We scheduled our dinner out last Saturday, with no good restaurant in mind. We started with Swiss Chalet ( grilled chicken) only because we saw a Swiss Chalet delivery guy in the elevator. While in the car, we realized however that the nearest Swiss Chalet is being renovated. Hubby said we will just drive around and search for one. We passed by Red Lobster, but we decided it was not for us. (Translation: we find Red Lobster a bit pricey). We then agreed we go to Amigo – a Chinese-Mexican restaurant which we visited once and promised to come back. Almost reaching Amigo, D out of the blue suggested the Korean Barbecue Grill (KBG) at Midland and Finch. He said it is an eat-all-you can, grill on your own restaurant. Hmm, sounds interesting and our tummy was ready. So KBG we go.
It was a decision we did not regret. Despite the difficulty of finding parking, the food was sooooo good. We had grilled squid, beef, ribs, pork, salmon, liver, white fish. Then a second (and even a third) serving of squid, salmon, and ribs. They say one is full to the max when the tummy is as hard as your head. I think the 3 of us reached that point. (Burp)
Reaching home, the next agenda for D (as he always plans these things), is watching Mission Impossible 3 (MI III) in Blue Ray. We have seen this movie, we just wanted to watch it again. (Strange, eh?). Still liked the movie, but this time I was more concerned on how they shoot that scene, how much was the budget for this film, can D ever make a movie like this? Anyway, if you think we had enough, think again. After MI III, we had a 5 minute break then watched Son of Rambow. This was a cute movie D and I watched during the TIFF 07. We like watching this movie over and over as it is really heartwarming and funny.

Food and family fun was a pleasant finale to D’s birthday.

  2. Au,
Yes, we "attacked" the squid and salmon like we have not eaten for days. Good thing our table was in the corner.
