I believe every family has its own oddness. It could be a certain way they fold their clothes, a unique way they greet each other, anything not common to other families.
This is ours : Hubby does not drive anywhere without me. Except for his personal “traveller’s” functions – check it out I am always on the front seat. He has several reasons for this unwritten rule.
Starting from poor night vision; followed by if he drives alone he feels like a chauffer; and of course, he needs somebody to navigate for him (like he gets lost in Toronto). One of his best reasons is he wants someone to talk to while driving – which literally means, someone to listen to his rants and raves about the crazy drivers on the road ( and that is worthy of another blog).
It does not matter if it is a 3 minute drive to the gasoline station, an emergency run to the grocery store, or picking up D at school. Like a standard car accessory, I have to be in my designated seat in the car.
And that is how I ended up writing this blog at the 24 hour Kinko's at 1:30 in the morning while waiting for D to print his project.
With this peculiar family practice, anything at anytime can become a family outing.
Any eccentricity in your family?
Yes, I have drivers all over the place :)
