Winter Stations at the Beaches

Winter Stations at the Beaches, Toronto
March 23, 2018

Visited WinterStations - temporary art installations at the Beaches (installed on/around lifeguard chairs) to celebrate Toronto's winter waterfront landscape.  These installations were selected from an open international competition and is on its 4th year.

Wind Station - takes the shape of a nuclear colling tower outfitted with hundreds of tiny pin-wheels.

Obstacle - provides a metaphor for collective action in overcoming global issues.

Rising Up - inspired by the topography of Toronto's Don Valley and symbolizes nature's uprising against increased urbanization.

Pussy Hut - a polarizing knitted hat associated with the 2017 Women's March.

Make Some Noise - an oversized noise box.

Nest - a colorful web that explores ideas of comfort within a system of disorder.

Was so blessed with nice sunny weather in this outing with a good friend. A day off well spent.
