Merrickville - the Locks, Ontario

October 9, 2017

The village of Merrickville (and neighboring areas) are not only known for its local arts and crafts but also for the Rideau Canal Locks. A lock is a device used for raising and lowering boats, ships and other watercarft between stretches of water of different levels on river and canal waterways.

We spent a day checking out a few of the locks.

A pretty picture of Merrickville's lock taken from the Mill St. bridge.

To know the road ahead, ask those coming back.
