The year 2016
is almost at its’ end. Looking back before looking forward.
- I restarted my fitness plan in April. Went to the gym regularly; hubby became my workout buddy and had another work buddy who lived 200 kms away. Everything went well, until December came and my love for sweets caved in and the crappy weather made me stay away. Life is too short not to enjoy the December cakes. Restart, reboot in January.
- I visited the homeland in October. It was a pleasant vacation well spent with family and friends but it used up almost all my vacation days. Now I do not have much vacation days to carry over in 2017. But 2017 is the year I get 25 vacation days after being in the service for 15 years!!
- An incident happened in June that “grounded” me. For a person who is so used to having a “personal” driver who takes me wherever I want to go – it was a devastating wake up call. The incident however gave me the push to learn how to drive. I passed my G2 road test and although I have not been driving a lot – I can if I want to.
- I have never been a gamer (be it cellphone, computer or iPad) – but this year I got hooked with Pokemon Go! I was playing seriously. The good thing with Pokemon was I walked kilometers (really walked distances), discovered Toronto again and bonded with the son all for the love the game.
2016 has been a great year!!
Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons.

More adventures in 2017!
