For most of us, this is a busy month. Weekends are filled with parties, wrapping gifts, getting ready and all.
So glad the last weekend was a quiet one for us. No party, no shopping for gifts, not even unscheduled visitors. Plain old chilling with the family.
After a late brunch (breakfast con lunch) all three of us went to the grocery. D seldom goes to the grocery with us -- but this time he did. And when he does, be prepared to pay way, way more than your budget. I almost could not believe the total when the cashier handed me the receipt. But it doesn't matter - it's not always.
At home, D and hubby helped open and arranged all groceries. Cooking started right away. We had a hearty early dinner of salmon, spring mix salad, and clam shell soup. Dinner conversation continued where we discussed about D's future plans, Graphic Design, movies, business, Toronto life and a lot of other things.
Two hours later, all three of us were in front of the TV to watch "State of Play" - a not so popular movie starring Russell Crowe and Rachel McAdams. We had chips and strawberry shake while lounging on our favorite spots. All three of us agreed, it was a very good movie - highly recommended.
After State of Play, D and hubby watched Part 2 of "Che" - the movie based on Che Guevarra's life. I was happily clicking my keyboard while they watched - I mean I was blogging and Facebooking. As usual, everyone slept very late.
Sunday was another bonding day. Fried daeng, sinangag, hotdog, eggs and coffee for breakfast. Then the the usual activities and then finally the highly requested lasagna for dinner.
Wish weekends like this come often.
