Six Degrees - Part 2
What are the chances that the person you just met knows someone you know too?
Hubby and I were at Toronto Centre Island one late Friday afternoon. A Filipino couple asked us to take their photo and we got to know they were vacationers from Virginia , USA . They told us they were from Luzon back in the Philippines so nothing common. We both went our separate ways after the picture taking.
A few minutes later we saw them again and of course we had to take their photo for a different view. In between thank you(s) we found out that they had ties to Iligan City . The woman graduated from the hospital/school where I gave birth to D while the man had a serious relationship with someone from Iligan too. More chit-chats and voila! we do have common friends. We ended up exchanging e-mails and Facebook accounts.
Sometimes, there is not even 6 degrees that separate us from other people. Read Six Degrees of Separation.

I have read an article that the chances of meeting someone who knows someone you know is 1 in 5000. That was an awesome encounter.
ReplyDeleteI bet the woman is a graduate of Sanitarium College? or MVC and had her training at MSH. diri ka nanganak no? just plainly guessing. :)
ReplyDeleteSolitario,
ReplyDeleteSa 6 Degrees - there are only 6 persons or degrees that separate you from a stranger. I think it is quite true - it has happened to me a few times already.
Arlene,
Yes - graduate sa Sanitarium -we used to live sa likod diha. The guy "almost married" somebody from Suarez - nga kilala din namin ang family. Small world!
