Crossing the border at 3:30 am
Border Guard : Reason for crossing?
Us : Visit friends.
Border Guard : At 3:30 am?
Border Guard : What are you bringing with you?
Us : Just personal effects
Border Guard : No rice and adobo?
Border Guard : How much money are you bringing?
Hubby looks at me.
Me : A hundred dollars or less.
Border Guard : Everytime I ask that question, very often the husband will always looks at the wife and lets her answer. Have a good day.
One time, 3 family friends were in a convoy.
Border Guard : What's the purpose of your trip?
Car 1 : Attend house blessing of family friend.
Car 2 : Attend house blessing of family friend.
When it was our turn -
Border Guard : Attending house blessing?
There is no way of telling what questions you get asked, but sometimes they do make it easy.
before we bought a car, we used to get a rental car...

BORDER GUARD: Why are you renting? Where's your car?
ME: Cuz we don't have a car...
BORDER GUARD: *looking suspicious* How do you get around then?!
ME: We have something called PUBLIC TRANSPORT!
that's just one of the few memorable questions we've been asked... but thank god we've never been asked to pull over!
