Commemorating Gold

As the iconic Maple Leaf flag was hoisted above the Olympic podium in - it was history in the making. This first ever gold medal victory in Canadian soil is honored and preserved in a commemorative stamp by Canada Post.

What makes this stamp unique was it was approved, designed, and printed yet there was the prospect of it never being released. The project was done in utmost secrecy and had to be available when needed. Good thing skier Alexandre Bilodeau delivered ! First gold in Canadian soil!

And Canada Post was ready. What a way to preserve history!
