United Way - A True Story

Our branch launched the start of the United Way campaign yesterday. For $2, we can have breakfast of coffee and muffin or bagel.

I have always taken United Way for granted -- but this time something moved me. It was this true story told by a United Way volunteer.

He was a high ranking corporate guy married to an equally high paying executive. They had it all, a son, vacations, cars, cottages, nice home. Then, his sister got ill and passed away. All the way, United Way was there for support. Soon after, son died at 11 due to cancer. Again, United Way was there. A few years later, wife died. Same support.

Now, he volunteers for United Way full time. Helping people.
