What was your first camera?
Hubby's romance with the camera started a few months before D was born. Newlyweds but childless for almost 2 years, there was no need for a camera then. However, upon hearing the great news that we were expecting, we decided to get one. Nothing fancy, just something we can use.
This was our first camera purchased from Gaisano, Iligan City early 1988. It was a 35mm National Compact Camera. For several years it captured D's growing up years. Birth, baptism, birthdays, school activities, Christmas.
Migrating to Canada, we still brought it with us. Again, it captured most of the "firsts" we had in Canada. Winter, snow, CN Tower, picnics, Niagara.
A few other cameras had come and gone, but we always kept this one (manual included). Last time we checked - it still worked. I guess some things are meant to be treasured.
Do you still have your first camera?
At a first glance, with you in hospital gown, I thought that object in the other photo is a gadget that the doctor's use to take blood pressure. Our first camera was a Kodak given by an aunt in the late 60's. It was posh that time. We had it for a long time until it was lost by constant borrowing. It captured our growings years when women started wearing short dresses and men wore bell-bottomed pants enough cover the "elevator" shoes.
