Cooking Marathon

After grocery hopping in the morning, hubby became Jaime Oliver and cooked all afternoon. This Randomness menu:
  • Arroz caldo (chicken porridge?) for sick son. After all the holiday chaos, the body sometimes gives up -- D's body.
  • Salmon head siningang (soup) specially for me. Hubby does not like salmon -- but I love them. I don't know how to make good sinigang, but hubby does -- so he makes a big pot for me. Enough for a few servings.
  • Banana blossom salad. Yummy. Perfect pair to my sinigang.
  • Sauteed ampalaya with eggs.
  • Eggplant with bacon bits and eggs.
  • Sauteed mongo sprouts with chicken breasts.
  • Grilled salmon. Grilled grouper.
  • Mushroom with turkey breast (holiday left overs).
  • Finally, chicken cordon bleu.
What do I do with all these food? Divide them in several containers, mark them, freeze them. Now, we have ready lunch (and maybe dinner) for each working day next week.
Ahhmm, what was your order again?

p.s. In between cooking, we had avocado con macapuno with soy milk. Healthy, eh?

  5. What an appropiate topic! Today, I had to call-in sick coz my right ankle has been painfully swollen since yesterday pm. I went to a walk-in clinic and after ruling out arthritis(thru in-clinic xray), I was preliminarily diagnosed of having GOUT symptoms(to be confirmed thru blood test, w/c will take a couple of days)...ouch! ...quite a revelation of what I have been eating over the holidays...tanan nga bawal); enjoy your food, Em, mentras wala ka pa'y "bawal" (-: imong amiga sa Tampa
