Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance Day here in Canada. Being Canadian (by residency) , and one of the lucky people who are off today, I am doing my own celebration and remembrance of heroes.

For heroes long gone.
Sina Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Apolinario Mabini, Ninoy Aquino at marami pang iba . The heroes I met only in my school books. If they are still alive today, what else could they have done for mother country?

And the living heroes.
Filipinos who choose to stay in the Philippines, content, never losing hope, and those who continue to fight for their cause, knowing it is almost an impossible battle.
Mga bagong bayani, Filipinos who are away from the Philippines. From a blog I read, there are already 8M Filipino overseas contract workers, making the Philippines 4th in terms of remittances received from OCWs. That is a lot of living heroes.

Sana ma remember din tayo, kahit anong araw.

  3. i remember when Jas was in middle school... she had to write an essay for her English class about her hero. Unbelievable, Dick Dastardly was it and she had her reasons.
