I am in a cross cultural world. My office mate's only daughter is going to India to visit the boyfriend's family. My officemate wanted to go but the daughter said she does not want to impose on her boyfriend's family to invite her mom also. In our Filipino culture that won’t happen.
In my circle of friends, most children are into relationships with someone not a Filipino or Filipina. Not that it matters to me because it doesn’t really. It’s just that looking forward, we will be expecting Chinise, Jamaican, Indian, Canadian kumare and kumpare. I still cannot seem to imagine half-Filipino grandchildren.
I hope it is still a long way to go.

Culture is way of life. Being in America this long has somehow made additions to our already existing customs. True, our kids may get hitched with someone "not like us" but this do not mean that they and their offspring become less Filipino. I will teach my grandchildren (if I will have some) of the culture that I am proud of---PINOY!
