For five months she was subjected to sun and dust, parked away from our home. It was not our choice. Our parking garage was renovated and sad though it was for us, we had to give in to improvement.
It was a 5-7 minute walk from home and anxieties filled us. We thought we could not cope with the walking, how could we transport our heavy grocery stuff, what if it rains, how can we manage during weekend parties?
But what really hurt was leaving "Cally" uncovered. What if someone throws a stone at her? scratches her ? steals her? She is just 4 months old! Every morning as we pass by her temporary home we check if she is still there. After work, we pass by and crane our neck again to check on her. We purchased sun shade for her windows so she does not get so hot.
Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months. Finally, the 5 month project duration is over and nothing happened to our dear "Cally". Amazing how an inconvenient experience still resulted in something positive like :
Discovering our legs and maybe losing a few lbs from all that walking.
Experiencing Kennedy Road and noticing new places (like the Sushi restaurant we have not tried).
Saving on gas as we scheduled our trips.
Underground parking is back. The walking days are over, and "Cally" is home.
