So Many Movies, So Little Time

TIFF '08 opens tomorrow, and WE ARE ready. Tickets picked-up, schedules okay (except the boss who still do not know I am taking a vacation day on Thursday), and "budget" ( for meals and fares) is tolerable. Our first movie this year is "Adela" -- one of the three Filipino movies included.

How does one go choosing from 300+ to just 12?
First was the run through of movie titles that seems interesting. We eliminate outright movies that are sure to be coming out in a regular run (big budget movies, power cast, known directors, etc.) I have to admit, I gave D the freedom to prepare the preliminary list. Once D had 30 movies in his list, we discussed why he thinks it is worthy of our time and money. I say yes or no, then we moved on. Whew ! This took us more than 2 hours.

With our shortened list of films, we added our schedules then the movie schedules. Final choices and schedule then submitted. This was completed over 2 orders of Teriyake beef noodle soup and ice-cream as appetizer.

The excitement is building...
