It was the diner scene. The owner had given us permission to use her facility for the shoot. 30 minutes into the shoot, and after the owner left, guess who came by to ask what we were doing?
Building security of course! And we do not have a permit ! Yes, we have the restaurant's permit, but not the building management's permit.
A day before the shoot, I contemplated on whether to ask for a permit or not. I took my chances, and decided not to get one.
And the inevitable did happen! We were asked to stop. Permit must be secured from the property manager. We have to wait anywhere between 30 minutes to several hours, there is no guarantee of approval, and we were losing daylight. We were doomed.
On times like this, what should one do? PRAY - really, really hard. Ask for a miracle.

P.S. -- yes, permission was granted to go ahead with filming after a 45 minute wait. Excellent service from our special angel.
