TIFF Movies

Moving on from documentaries, here are the 3 TIFF 2011 movies I saw last Monday. Really have no time to add my own reviews. All photos and notes taken from the official TIFF site.

Roman's Circuit (Chile/Argentina). As a young man, Roberto Roman (Cristián Carvajal) developed groundbreaking theories on memory migration that catapulted him to fame within the field of neuropsychology.

388 Arletta Avenue (Canada) . James Deakins (Nick Stahl) and his wife Amy (Mia Kirshner) lead a very comfortable life in an upscale Toronto neighbourhood. What neither James nor Amy knows is that they’re being watched 24 hours a day. Shot entirely from the vantage point of surveillance and handheld cameras, Randall Cole’s 388 Arletta Avenue is a stylish and atmospheric thriller about privilege and justifiable paranoia.

The Odds (Canada). A perfect balance of teen social portrait and edgy suspense, brillant and efficient cross between John Dahl’s Rounders and Rian Johnson’s Brick.
